A typical end of season encounter saw Bramham pick up another 3 points, their 3rd clean sheet in 3 games against Otley and 9th clean sheet of the season.
Bramham dominated the game from start to finish although they did take a good 30 minutes to get into their stride. Otley never threatened Ratcliffe in the home goal apart from a half chance from a cross-cum-shot which eventually went 4 yards wide.
Bramham attacked throughout the game but didn’t create anything clear cut until the 35th minute when Easby tormented his man yet again, the ball found O’Donoghue who played Tasker in and his shot was well saved by Shadrach Dingle.
Surprisingly, the score remained 0-0 at half-time and did so until the hour mark, mainly to the heroics of Dingle who made a number of excellent saves to deny Tasker, Reynolds and Jacklyn.
A spate of substitutions by Bramham came after 58 minutes and within 2 minutes, Bramham had the lead. A free-kick on the left just inside the Otley half was dangerously curled in by Elliott. Dingle came then retreated and the ball fell to Booker at the far post. He swung his leg, missed the ball and it went in off his hand unnoticed by the referee. 1-0.
5 minutes later Bramham extended their lead from another free-kick. This time, on the right, Booker swung the ball in. Reynolds ran across the edge of the 6 yard box and fired an unstoppable header into the corner of the net. 2-0.
The game then petered out into a typical end of season match with Bramham content to just dominate possession. Any advance towards their goal was comfortably dealt with by Maltby, Elliott, Cannon and Rich Craven.
Not to be outdone, Nick Craven snatched the miss of the season trophy out of Reynolds hands. Reynolds looked to be a dead cert after holding the trophy since the turn of the year but up popped Nick Craven. He headed over the bar, unchallenged, unmarked, open goal and a mere 2 yards out. YES. 2 YARDS!!! It was hard luck on Reynolds who managed to monopolise the trophy for the last 3 months after wrestling it from the firm grip of Tasker.

Another convincing performance from Bramham saw the reach their 2nd cup final of the season.
Red Arrows arrived holding 2nd place in the league and a 40-goal marksman but neither was evident as Bramham comfortably overcame them with an excellent team performance.
Bramham took the lead as early as 5 minutes into the game. The ball found its way into the box and Booker was on hand to stab the ball home at the second attempt from the first attack of the game for 1-0.
Red Arrows were always going to be a danger from set pieces due to the size of some of their players and this showed with the equalizing goal. The ball was crossed in from the right and was met at the far post with a strong header from the big centre back to level things up at 1-1.
Bramham began to attack again with Milner and Jones causing problems down the right and Booker and Rich Craven causing similar difficulties down the left. Just before half-time Bramham regained the lead through an excellent finish from the impressive Reynolds.
After regaining his scoring touch last week, Reynolds again made no mistake. This time, from twelve yards out, he expertly arrowed the ball into the far corner of the net through a whole host of players to give Bramham a deserved half-time lead.
Into the 2nd half and Bramham continued to pour forward with Red Arrows dependant on the counter attack. Hulme and Dodsworth snuffed out anything in midfield and whenever they were bypassed, Elliott and Maltby dealt with the danger comfortably.
With 20 minutes to go Bramham went 3-1 up and the game was as good as over. A free-kick was awarded on the right for a foul. Dodsworth swung the ball into the box and Milner timed his run from deep to perfection. As the defence pushed up, he ran passed them to head home unchallenged from 8 yards out.
The lead could have been extended further but Elliott hit his shot just over, Wrights free-kick was excellently tipped over the bar and Hulmes dipping volley was inches too high.
Ratcliffe had little to do all game but when called upon to make his only two saves of the match, he saved both excellently and also managed to kick their striker in the nuts!
Another final to look forward to and another chance to win some silverware. Dig those ties out again lads!

No referee at fault today. What a refreshing change!!!
Bramham made the long trip to Pateley Bridge for a match against a team just 5 points behind them in the league and who had held runaway leaders Yorkshire Amateurs to a draw the previous week.
The pitch was like concrete and prevented Bramham from playing as much football as they would have liked but it didn’t prevent them from taking control of the game right from the start.
Cup final hangover gone, Bramham dominated from the kick-off. The only surprise was it was still 0-0 at half-time. With Wright running rings round the home defence and the back four looking solid as a rock a goalless first half didn’t look on the cards. Reynolds missed a decent chance when one-on-one and Milner missed a tap-in from a yard out.
Wright was thwarted by the keeper on a couple of occasions as was Farthing. Early on Pateley relied on the aerial threat of their striker which was soon nullified by Maltby and Elliott and Ratcliffe was literally a spectator.
Half-time came and went and Bramham continued to pour forward. It was no surprise when they took the lead. Wright’s quick feet set Reynolds away and as the keeper came out, Reynolds made no mistake by prodding the ball round him and following on to it to roll it in for 1-0.
1 soon became 2 as Wright got the goal he had been threatening all afternoon. He twisted and turned both centre-halves before drawing the keeper forward and smashing his shot into the bottom left hand corner.
Pateley looked deflated and Wright added his second and Bramham’s third soon after. After turning the centre-half again, he fired in a 25 yarder which the keeper failed to stop and let past him into the net. 3-0.
The fourth goal was the best of the day, Rich Craven picked up the ball at left back on the halfway line. He carried the ball forward and from fully 30 yards out let fly with a right footer that sailed over the keeper and dipped into the back of the net. A trademark strike from the lad.
Bramham then took their foot off the gas a little although could have added to their lead when Easby (twice) and Nick Craven both went close.
Ratcliffe finally made his first and only save of the match from a free kick that easily looped into his arms.
4-0 and fourteen games unbeaten. All unbeaten runs must come to an end lads but let’s make sure its not this season!

Only a shocking refereeing decision with 5 minutes left prevented Bramham taking all 3 points from this game, the draw did however make it 13 straight games unbeaten.
A shuffling of the pack was required as is usually the case with evening games due to work commitments etc.
Bramham started the game slowly and appeared to be suffering from Cup Final Victory hangover!
Wetherby made all the early running and forced Tasker into a good save to keep the scores level. It was no surprise when Wetherby took the lead midway through the first half. Chris Turner nodded in a free-header at the back post after Ewen lost his man following a Wetherby corner.
Braham’s only chances of the first half came when Plews fired a free-kick wide from 20 yards and headed over following a corner. Wetherby continued to be the better side but failed to create any more chances and their domination was fruitless although they took a deserved 1-0 lead into the break.
Into the second half and Bramham began to play. They continued to press forward and penned Wetherby back into their own half for long periods of the game. A 25 yard right-footer from Elliott flew inches wide and Milner forced a good save from the keeper.
Braham’s set pieces caused Wetherby problems all night and not once, not twice but three times following set pieces the ball rolled across the goal only a yard out but nobody put the ball in the net.
Bramham continued to apply the pressure and when Plews was hacked down in the box, the ref had no hesitation in awarding a blatant penalty. Up stepped Elliott to send the keeper the wrong way and score his second penalty in two games. 1-1.
Hudson twice headed over as did Plews as Bramham looked to take all 3 points.
Wetherby began to rely on the long-ball counter-attack and despite a bit of late pressure, never really troubled Tasker again in the home goal.
Blunder of the match!!!! For the second home game running, a refereeing decision cost Bramham 2 points. Elliott swung a corner in from the right, Wetherby again struggled to clear the ball properly and it bounced back to Elliott on the edge of the box. His lofted volley sailed over the keeper and into the net for 2-1 with just 5 minutes to go. Wetherby were gutted but up popped the ref to save the game for them.
He adjudged Bramham to have 2 players in an offside position but as neither player challenged for the ball (they just watched it sail in!) and the ball was never lower than 8 feet in the air until it crossed the line, the ref was the only person in Bramham who thought they were interfering with play. Even the Wetherby keeper admitted to being bemused by the decision.
So the game finished 1-1 and the unbeaten wagon rolls on.

Bramham opened with some fine flowing football, and knocked the ball around with the confidence of a side unbeaten since 2nd December last year.
Craven looked particularly threatening on the flank and Milner was a class act in midfield. Styans were resricted to the odd raid on the Bramham goal but Elliott and Maltby were rock solid all evening.
On 21 minutes Bramham were rightly awarded a penalty when Craven was bundled to the floor. Elliot stepped up and calmly stroked the ball home for a deserved lead.
Bramham were rarely troubled and Ratcliffe was the equal of the few attempts on his goal.
In the second half Bramham sent on Carrier for the injured Booker and he sealed Styans fate midway through the half, running onto a pass before lobbing the keeper for a quality finish.
Cannon and Develly came on as Bramham cruised through this game and won with plenty to spare.
Jacko and Ted have turned this team around since the early weeks of the season, they have instilled confidence and belief, and the players have responded magnificently, a reserve team in name only of which the club can be rightly proud!

Bramham made it twelve league games unbeaten and only two shocking refereeing decisions prevented in being 11 wins in a row.
Ewen was unavailable as was Milner and Jones could only make the bench due to a knock.
Catterick started the better team although they failed to create any chances and it was no surprise when Bramham took the lead midway through the first half. Following a corner on the right, a ball in from Booker found its way to the far post. Under pressure from Maltby, the centre-half’s prevented Maltby from reaching the ball and scoring an easy tap-in as he kneed the ball into the net for an own goal.
Bramham continued to push forward and dealt with any Catterick pressure, which in truth was sporadic. The back four looked solid and were ably supported by the midfield with the Plough in particular putting in some excellent challenges. Hughes forced a good save from the keeper with a rasping 25 yarder as did Reynolds from 20 yards.
Early in the second half Catterick scored an equaliser. A cross from the Catterick left deceived Ratcliffe in the home goal and as the centre-forward held Ratcliffe down, he failed to gather the cross and the ball was tapped in at the far post.
Bramham put their foot back on the gas and regained the lead quickly. Yet another Bramham corner caused chaos in the Catterick box and with Reynolds and Hughes waiting to pounce, the centre-half attempted to clear the ball. His clearance smashed into the fullback and rebounded into the goal with Hughes waiting to tap-in.
2-1 soon became 3-1. The Plough drove Bramham forward and with Bramham players rushing into the box, the keeper lost out in a challenge with Nick Craven. The ball fell to Hughes who drilled in a low 8 yarder for his 3rd goal in 3 games.
Bramham continued to attack with Catterick relying on the long ball on the counter. A good performance from the referee was ruined by the first of two appalling decisions. The long ball was played over the top of the Bramham defence and as the striker was stood a full 5 yards behind the last defender, he was surprised as anybody when he heard no whistle. He broke away, crossed the ball and his fellow striker scored to make it 3-2 with 10 minutes to go.
Appalling decision number 2 made it 3-3 and cost Bramham 2 points. Catterick were awarded a goal kick at which point the referee said 30 seconds left. A full minute later, Catterick were awarded a throw-in on the Bramham right. Again, the referee said just a few seconds left. The ball was again put out for a Catterick throw-in. Not only did he fail to blow up after 4 minutes of injury-time in an injury-free game the throw-in was taken, swung in to the far post to the Catterick winger who was so far off-side, he was the only player other than home keeper Ratcliffe in the 6 yard box. He tapped in for 3-3.
The referee then played a further minute after Bramham restarted the game for the longest 30 seconds in the history of the world.

Bramham achieved their tenth consecutive victory by defeating Pannal 2-1 although it wasn’t in the usual accustomed fashion.
With the Plough, Develley and Cannon all returning, Bramham could afford to rest Rich Craven even with Milner unavailable and Easby and Jones called up to the first team.
The wind again was a big factor in this game with Bramham struggling to play their usual good football. Pannal began the game brightly but it was Bramham who took the lead inside 10 minutes. Tasker challenged the keeper for a cross from the right, the keeper made a hash of his punch. He totally missed the ball and punched Tasker clean in the face and denying him a tap in. Penalty to Bramham. Hughes shooed away usual spot-kick taker Elliott and calmly rolled the ball into the left-hand-side of the goal, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0 to Bramham
Possession was pretty much 50-50 for the rest of the first-half although Pannal should have gone in 2 or 3-1 up as they created the far better clean-cut chances. Ratcliffe misjudged a cross to the far post and the striker fired over. The same striker also headed straight at Ratcliffe from a corner when it was easier to score.
Elliott, Nick Craven and Hughes were all guilty of squandering chances for Bramham and so the half finished 1-0.
Into the second half and the game became end to end although neither side created anything clear-cut. Pannals equaliser came following a corner on the left. The ball was only half cleared by Ewen then the Plough and fell to the midfielder on the edge of the box who hit a first-time volley goalbound. The ball appeared to be sailing over the cross-bar but held up slightly in the wind and dipped over Ratcliffe for 1-1.
Bramham rallied and began to create the better chances. Elliott and Reynolds both fired wide from 35 and 20 yards respectively, Hughes caused problems and forced a good save from the keeper, as did Rich Craven.
Bramham took the lead after a foul on the right. Elliott hit the free-kick goalwards and as the keeper moved he could only parry the shot under pressure from Develley. The ball fell into the path of Hughes who coolly drilled the ball into the net for his and Bramhams second goal. 2-1.
Pannal applied some late pressure but other than forcing a few late corners, never worked Ratcliffe again in the home goal. Pannal probably did enough to earn a draw and maybe even sneak a win but Bramham took their chances and as a result came out victorious.

Yet another win as Bramham continued their relentless winning streak making it nine consecutive victories and keeping their 4th clean sheet in 6 games.
With the Plough and James Develley unavailable, the seconds welcomed back Nick Craven and Adam Tasker and had a shuffle around of players with youngsters Milner and Jacklyn both rested.
On a surprisingly hard pitch and kicking into the gale force wind, Bramham made good headway although Catterick created the opening chance of the game. A 20 yard effort from the centre-forward was smartly pushed round the post by Ratcliffe.
The game became a bit of a midfield battle with Bramham trying to get the ball down and play while Catterick attempted to make use of the wind by employing the long ball tactic.
Playing the better football, Bramham began to create chances and only Hughes’ final touch prevented him from opening the scoring as the ball just ran away from him after an excellent run.
Midway through the first half, Bramham opened the scoring. Following a corner on the left, the ball broke to Rich Craven just inside the Catterick box. He chested the ball and unleashed an unstoppable right-foot volley which flew past the keeper for 1-0.
Catterick persisted with their wind-aided long ball tactics which Bramham eventually got to grips with and dealt with quite comfortably. 10 minutes later and Bramham extended their lead. Elliott won the ball in midfield and played the ball forward to Reynolds. His flick on fell perfectly into the excellent run of Tasker who lifted the ball over the advancing keeper from a tight angle into the far corner of the net for a 2-0 lead.
Half-time came and went and Ratcliffe spent much of the second half as a spectator. The defence, ably supported by the midfield, coped well with any threat Catterick posed and again Bramham created the better chances. Two handballs in the Catterick box were not spotted, Tasker fired over from 15 yards, Elliott had a 35 yarder well saved and after another mazy trademark run from Hughes, his shot was well saved.
Yet another excellent team performance and this week it was straight from the kick-off. Fine individual displays were noted from Nick & Rich Craven, Hughes and Maltby.

Bramham boasting an astonishing run of 7 straight wins arrived in confident mood for this Spa cup semi final tie and Ted O'Donaghue wasted no time in reminding them of the significance of todays game.
For all the words of O'Donaghue and Jacklyn they still started slowly with Thirsk enjoying the best of the early exchanges, pressing Bramham back and threatening to take the lead. Bramham gradually got a foothold in the game, but were rocked when the referee after consultation with his assistant awarded the home side a penalty for an entirely innocuous incident when Ratcliffe collected a 50:50 ball.
Justice was done however with the impressive Ratcliffe making a fine save. This proved to be a turning point in the game and Bramham never looked back, they swept forward and following good work down the flank the ball foun its way into the box where Reynolds headed home.
Bramham looked comfortable at the break and the confidence of recent weeks was there for all to see. Maltby and Elliott snuffed out the Thirsk strikers and Jones proved troublesome all afternoon. It was Jacklyn however that stole the show, firstly driving home a pinpoint cross from Jones from 10 yards out and then chipping the keper from the edge of the area to seal Bramham's passage into the Cup Final.
This was a well deserved victory from a Bramham side that even when they are not playing at their best, have a great spirit, desire and belief.

Sorry if this is getting repetitive but Bramham won again and took their unbeaten run into a 3rd month!
With the Plough, John Reynolds, James Develley & Tosh Maltby all returning, the loss of Josh Jones & Nick Craven (1sts) and Drew Ratcliffe (holiday) was somewhat balanced out even if it did mean a shuffling of the pack and players not playing in their usual positions.
On a small and poor playing surface, Bramham’s usual style of good football would have to take a back seat. Bramham were slow out of the blocks in the opening stages and it took a perfect challenge from Maltby to prevent them going 1-0 down after a suicidal back pass from Cannon put their striker in. He rounded Booker but was denied by Maltby’s challenge which was Bobby Moore-esque.
In a dire and dour first half, Bramham created little and spent much of the half on the back foot. Although defending for long periods, Hampswhaite never created anything clear-cut and seemed to be relying on the aerial ability of the centre-midfielders and the long ball over the top for the strikers to run on to.
5 minutes before half-time and Bramham surprisingly took the lead with a goal out of nothing. Craven applied pressure on the right-back and his poor square ball was hit straight at Tasker. One-on-one with the keeper, Tasker made no mistake and expertly rolled the ball into the bottom left-hand corner for 1-0.
Half-time came and after a mild telling off for a shocking 1st half display, the performance level was picked up. Bramham came into the game more and Hampswhaite spent much of the first 20 minutes defending. Bramham won a free-kick on the right, a perfect far-post delivery from Reynolds was about to be volleyed home by Ewen when the centre-half came from nowhere to place a bullet-header of an OG in his own net. 2-0
The game became a bit of a midfield battle with Bramham hitting mainly on the counter and an excellent ball in from the impressive Milner playing in a central role, was just too long for Craven.
12 minutes to go and Hampswhaite pulled a goal back. Following a throw-in on the left, the unchallenged right-back whipped in a cross and the ball was scrambled home for 2-1 and brought Hampswhaite back into the game.
Sensing victory, Hampswhaite pushed forward but Bramham defended stoutly with excellent support from the midfield and always looked dangerous on the counter attack and so the game finished 2-1 to Bramham.
A good 2nd half performance saw us home. We know the pitch didn’t help matters but PLEASE can we be at the races from kick-off this week lads!!!

With last weeks game falling victim to the weather (yet again!), Bramham had a week off and for the first 20 minutes it showed! They did manage to rack up their 6th straight win and in the process, extend their unbeaten league run which stretches back to their last defeat on December 2nd.
With the Plough, John Reynolds, Tosh Maltby and Nick Lambert all missing and Brett Hudson still with the 1st team, the return of Chris Elliott and Danny Ewen were welcome additions as was the inclusion of Danny Baeza for his 1st start of the season.
Bramham were slow out of the blocks in the opening stages although they did create some half decent chances, most notably Jacklyn’s 25 yard curler which had the keeper at full stretch to save. A cross from Milner was handled by the centre-half but the ref failed to give a penalty and Jones volleyed over from a corner.
20 minutes gone when disaster struck. Bramham gave away a free-kick on their right, a crossfield ball picked out the unmarked, overlapping fullback who crossed to the far post for the left winger to knee the ball home unchallenged from 2 yards out. 1-0 Addingham.
Bramham finally woke up and took a foothold in the game and within 10 minutes were back on level terms. A good forward run and inch-perfect slide-rule pass by Booker put Tasker 1-on-1 with the keeper and he made no mistake. 1-1.
Just seven minutes later and 1-1 became 2-1 to Bramham. Rich Craven broke forward from left-back and played a 1-2. As the ball came back to him, it sat up and he smashed an unstoppable curler into the top right-hand corner of the net leaving the keeper rooted. Minutes later, the addingham centre-half produced his second great save of the match by plucking Milner’s cross from the air with his left hand. (AGAIN!) No penalty.
Half-time came and the 2nd half was much the same story. Bramham pinned Addingham back in their own half for long periods with Milner and Jones causing no end of problems down Bramham’s right and Nick Craven’s excellent running proving a real thorn in Addingham’s side.
Mideay thorugh the 2nd half and Jacklyn found the ball at his feet in the box. His run across goal was ended abruptly by the defender and Bramham were FINALLY awarded a penalty. Up stepped captain for the day Elliott to drill the ball into the left-hand roof of the net for 3-1.
Addingham created their only two further chances within 5 minutes of each other. A long range dipper that was comfortably tipped over by Ratcliffe and a header over from 7 yards out. While Tasker did his best to keep the scoreline respectable by missing a hatful of chances!
Changes in personnel resulted in Bramham’s 4th. Easby replaced the excellent Nick Craven upfront and Cannon came on for Jacklyn. Jones and Milner again combined down the right and fed Easby. His smart run provided the cross to the back post for Cannon to tap home the fourth.
Another great team performance, including some excellent individual displays. Especially from Nick Craven, Josh Jones and the ever improving youngster Rich Milner. Keep it up lads.
